I hope you will find this web-site informational and this ministry helpful. The purpose of Divide-The-Truth is to help the Sunday School be better equipped in teaching the Word of God so they may apply God’s Truth to their personal lives and help those they teach do so also. It is my desire that each week as teachers stand before their classes they have the tools to teach God’s Word accurately and with authority.

The ministry now offered actually began in 1999. It was during my first associate staff position, fresh out of seminary, that I began to see the need for helping my teachers do a better job. This feeling was only confirmed when teachers would come to me and ask, “What do you think this means?” or “I had someone ask… but I did not have the answer.” I am sure you have heard the same or similar type questions, and if you are like me, you feel that this is a reflection on your teaching or lack of teaching. To be frank, I took it personally when my Sunday School teachers were not well prepared to teach. I began to think of ways that I could help them. The best solution I came to was to actually teach the lesson to them one week in advance. What you see is the outcome of over five years of studying, teaching, and always looking for a better way to provide teachers with God’s Word that is “rightly divided.”

As you read the notes, you will notice that there is often times far more material than can be taught in the time allowed. My purpose is not that all the material be taught in the class time but that the teacher be taught. A better taught teacher is a better teaching teacher. It is always better to have more to teach than to not have enough. Your Sunday School teachers only have their class together for teaching for about one hour a week. Give them the best so they can be the best. Give them the most so they can use that time teaching God’s Word “rightly.”
